Crispiano Goes Greener: Ecological Walk and Sustainability Festival Engage the Community
On April 16, the event “Ecological Walk – Walking for Nature” took place, an initiative promoted by the young people of the Green & Social HUB project in collaboration with the Plastic Free representative for the Municipality of Crispiano, Manuela Santoro. Starting from the “Carlo Natale” Library, participants walked through various natural areas of the territory, actively engaging in litter collection along the route.
The event, made possible with the support of Monteco, La Rotta dei Due Mari, Bigfoot Adventure, and Pro Loco Crispiano, was a valuable opportunity for civic engagement and environmental awareness. The main goal was twofold: on one hand, to contribute to the protection of the local landscape; on the other, to promote greater awareness of the importance of environmental responsibility.
Sustainability Festival – Four Days of Dialogue and Proposals
From May 10 to 13, the Council Hall of the Municipality of Crispiano hosted the Sustainability Festival, a four-day program of meetings, panel discussions, and opportunities for exchange. The event focused on key current topics such as circular economy, sustainable development, and the 2030 Agenda.
The Green & Social HUB once again played a central role. The young participants showcased the initiatives carried out in the area, offering free energy consultations and support for the creation of Renewable Energy Communities (CER), in close collaboration with the local administration. This represents a concrete commitment to combating energy poverty and promoting a more inclusive and resilient development model.
A Community Looking Toward the Future
Both events underscore Crispiano’s commitment to promoting a sustainable and participatory lifestyle. Active citizen involvement, environmental stewardship, and intergenerational dialogue are now the pillars on which to build a more equitable, just, and responsible future.
Crispiano is thus establishing itself as a virtuous example of a community in transition, capable of combining territorial identity with social innovation.
