The Municipality of Avezzano, the Proteo Association, the Pro Loco Avezzano APS, and G&S HUB are pleased to present an important event dedicated to energy, science, and public dialogue: the conference-seminar “A First Discourse on Energy”, which will take place on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the Municipal Palace of Avezzano (Piazza della Repubblica).
This initiative aims to offer a valuable opportunity for in-depth exploration and dialogue on one of the most crucial and urgent issues of our time: energy, in its scientific, environmental, economic, and social dimensions.
Event Program
The meeting will open with institutional greetings and an introduction by Ilio Leonio, Vice President of Pro Loco Avezzano, who will welcome local authorities and the public.
The core of the seminar will feature a presentation by Professor Giovanni M. De Pratti, faculty member of the DIMA Department at the University of Rome “La Sapienza.” His lecture will guide attendees through a comprehensive reflection on energy—covering scientific foundations, emerging perspectives, and future implications.
The evening will conclude with an interactive roundtable, where the audience will be invited to engage with questions, comments, and insights in an open and participatory discussion.

Participation in the event is free of charge and open to the entire community, with the goal of promoting scientific culture and fostering greater public awareness of today’s pressing energy challenges.
